چکیده

Carbamazepine (CBZ), one of the most used pharmaceuticals worldwide and a Contaminant Emerging Concern, represents potential risk for environment human health. Wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) are significant source CBZ to environment, polluting whole water cycle. In this review, presence fate in urban cycle addressed, with focus on adsorption as possible solution its removal. Specifically, scientific literature removal by activated carbon substitute Biochar, is comprehensively scanned summed up, view increasing circularity treatments. onto biochar analyzed considering several aspects, such physicochemical characteristics adsorbents, operational conditions processes kinetics isotherms models. WWTPs usually show almost no (even negative), whereas witnessed drinking through advanced treatments >90%). Among these, considered preferable methods, being economical easier operate. Adsorption capacity influenced adsorbent precursors, pyrolysis temperature modification or activation processes. conditions, pH shows low influence process, has charge ranges. Differently, rotational speed favor CBZ. The other micro-contaminants organic matter decreases due competition effects. These results, however, concern mainly laboratory-scale studies, hence, full-scale investigations recommended take into account complexity real conditions.

Removal of chromium (VI) from aqueous solution by adsorption using cousinia eryngioides boiss and activated carbon

Adsorption capacity of Cr (VI) onto cousinia eryngioides boiss, activated carbon was investigated in a batch system by considering the effects of various parameters like contact time, initial concentration, pH, temperature, agitation speed, absorbent dose and particle size. Cr (VI) removal is pH dependent and found to be maximum at pH 2.0. The amounts of Cr (VI) adsorbed increased with increase...

A Comparative Study for the Removal of Methylene Blue Dye from Aqueous Solution by Novel Activated Carbon Based Adsorbents

This study was conducted to assess the ability of the studied adsorbent, i.e. raw oak fruit hulls and the activated carbon prepared from oak fruit hull for removing the Methylene blue (MB) from aqueous solution. This study was conducted under various effective parameters, e.g., contact time, pH, MB concentration, adsorbent concentration. The optimum amount of each parameter was determined a...

Removal of Methyl Orange Dye from Aqueous Solution by a Low-Cost Activated Carbon Prepared from Mahagoni (Swietenia mahagoni) Bark

This study utilized Swietenia mahagoni bark–a wood processing industry waste, for the preparation of activated carbon, and then investigated for the removal of methyl orange (MO) dye by the Swietenia mahagoni bark activated carbon (SMBAC). The effect of pH (3–10), adsorbent dose (1–30 g/L), initial MO dye concentration (10–100 mg/L), and contact time (1–240 min) were evaluated...
